Bill to bardzo grzeczny pies, czasem tylko pogoni pana rozklejającego plakaty, wścieknie się na tresera zwierząt czy spowoduje mały wypadek samochodowy. Także Ptyś to bardzo grzeczny chłopiec, czasem tylko zrobi z chodnika ślizgawkę, pobije się z kolegą czy zerwie kwiatki w parku. Problemem jest jedynie to, że w przypadku obu bohaterów "czasem" oznacza "codziennie"... Ale nie ma co narzekać - Ptyś i Bill równie często, co psocą, robią dobre uczynki, z których mogą być dumni. A konsekwencjami ich rozrabiania niech się martwią... rodzice! Twórcą serii był legendarny belgijski scenarzysta i rysownik Jean Roba (1930-2006; m. in. "Sprycjan i Fantazjusz"), który wymyślał przygody chłopca i jego psa od 1959 do 2001 roku. Od 2003 roku cykl jest kontynuowany przez innych autorów. Album zbiorczy zawiera trzy tomy oryginalne: "Szybki Bill", "Pamiętasz to, Bill?" oraz "Pobawmy się!".
