Historia Żydów w Warszawie i nie tylko.
Żydzi przybywali do Polski już w X wieku n.e. jako handlarze przeworzący, z państw arabskich m.in.: niewolników, tkaniny i przyprawy korzenne. Zwano ich Radanitami, od miejsca, z jakiego pochodzili, doliny Rodanu. Jednym z nich był Ibrahim ibn Jakub, autor relacji z podróży, którą w 966 roku odbył do Polski Mieszka I.
Istnieje legenda, o tym, że pierwsi żydowscy osadnicy, którzy przybyli na tereny Polski, zagłębili się w bujny las, w którym ptaki wyśpiewały po-lin, po-lin. Przrtłumaczyli to na hebrajski tu spocznijcie, co miało być znakiem, że w Polsce znajdą miejsce na nowy dom.
